The upcoming film will focus on Aegon Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros, a defining chapter in the history of House Targaryen. Aegon, alongside his sisters Visenya and Rhaenys, used their dragons to conquer much of Westeros and establish the Targaryen dynasty that would rule for generations.
Adding to the excitement, Beau Willimon is attached to write the screenplay. Willimon is best known as the creator of Netflix’s House of Cards and also worked as a writer on Disney’s Star Wars series Andor. His involvement gives the highly anticipated project a major creative connection to two acclaimed television franchises.

The theatrical movie will expand the Game of Thrones universe beyond HBO’s television series and could give fans a new look at one of Westeros’ most important historical events. While further details about the cast, director, production schedule, and exact release date have yet to be announced, ‘Aegon’s Conquest’ is already shaping up to be one of the franchise’s biggest upcoming projects.
