Valerie Perrine Dies: Valerie Perrine, the Oscar-nominated actress known for her role in Lenny and appearances in the Superman films, has died at the age of 82.
Valerie Perrine’s death was confirmed by a close friend.
Perrine died Monday at her home in Beverly Hills. The news was announced by her friend and longtime companion, Stacey Souther.

She had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015, which gradually affected her mobility and her ability to eat and speak.
“She faced Parkinson’s disease with incredible courage and compassion, never once complaining,” Souther said. “She was a true inspiration who lived life to the fullest and what a magnificent life it was. The world feels less beautiful without her in it.”
Souther had cared for her for several years. A GoFundMe page that had been created to help cover her medical expenses will now go toward burial costs.

Perrine earned critical acclaim for her role as Lenny Bruce’s wife in Lenny, which brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
