Released on Wednesday morning by Sony Pictures, the trailer generated 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours. The figure surpasses the previous record held by Deadpool and Wolverine, which reached 365 million views.
Within just eight hours, Brand New Day had already crossed 373 million views, breaking the earlier record set by Deadpool 3, which debuted during the 2024 Super Bowl.
That trailer had previously overtaken Spider-Man: No Way Home, which recorded 355.5 million views in 24 hours.
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer became the biggest trailer across all platforms.
The new Spider-Man film now holds the record for the biggest trailer overall, not just among movies. It surpassed the trailer for the video game Grand Theft Auto VI, which had drawn 475 million views in 24 hours.
To build anticipation, Sony released short teaser clips a day before the full trailer launch, helping generate strong early momentum.
Brand New Day marks Tom Holland’s return as Spider-Man following No Way Home, which brought together Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield and earned $1.9 billion worldwide.
The film takes place four years after the events of No Way Home. Peter Parker is now living alone after choosing to erase his identity from the memories of those close to him.
According to the official description, he continues to fight crime in New York, fully dedicated to his role as Spider-Man.
However, increasing pressure begins to take a toll, leading to unexpected physical changes while a new and powerful threat emerges.
