Matthew Wurnig, known for his viral “50 Dates 50 States” social media series, has been charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).
What is the Matthew Wurnig Arrest case?
According to arrest records in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, Wurnig, 29, was taken into custody early Saturday, March 21. The county is located about 140 miles outside of Minneapolis. Jail records show that he was arrested at approximately 3:30 a.m. local time.
Wurnig has been charged with second-degree DWI. He is also facing a charge for refusing to submit to a required chemical test, such as a breathalyzer or blood test, when requested by law enforcement.
TMZ first reported the news. Wurnig did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Wurnig gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 with his “50 Dates 50 States” series. The concept involved going on virtual dates with women from every U.S. state.
After pandemic restrictions were lifted, he continued the series by traveling across the country to meet participants in person. His content attracted millions of views and helped him build a TikTok following of more than 750,000.
He later launched additional seasons of the series, including a live finale on Good Morning America, where the winner of the most recent season received a cruise to the Bahamas.
