Batman Part II script : Director Matt Reeves has revealed that the Most waited script for The Batman Part II is officially complete and secured under tight protection, as preparations move forward for production to begin in spring 2026.
In an interview with THNEWS, the 59-year-old filmmaker shared that cameras are set to roll by late April or early May.
“It’s been a long journey, but I’m incredibly excited,” Reeves said. “I’m very proud of the script Mattson and I wrote, and we’ve started to share it with Robert Pattinson.”

To prevent any leaks, the team has implemented extreme security measures. “We’ve locked the script inside a coded pouch,” Reeves explained. “Robert was in New York when we sent it, and everything is handled with maximum caution. We trust Rob completely he’s the best.”

Robert Pattinson, 39, will return as Gotham’s Dark Knight after earning critical acclaim for his performance in the 2022 film. In a previous conversation with SFX Magazine, the actor reflected on the demanding nature of the role and Reeves’ meticulous directing style.
“With this franchise, there’s such a strong legacy every movie has been top-tier, so everyone gives it their all,” Pattinson said. “Matt’s perfectionism means you’re on set nonstop from the moment you arrive. I barely got a break, especially with the suit. Once it’s on, you’re in it all day.”
Pattinson also recalled his first screen test, which took place in Val Kilmer’s 1995 Batman Forever suit. “I remember thinking, ‘This is impossible,’” he laughed.
The suit was two inches thick, and I was drenched in sweat within minutes. There was nothing anyone could do I had to be drained of liquid afterward.
Reeves described that test as a defining moment in the casting process. “Rob did his first screen test alone, wearing Val Kilmer’s Batsuit. The second he put it on, we all knew — it was a surreal and powerful moment.”
With filming scheduled to begin next year, fans are eager to see how Reeves and Pattinson will continue the gritty Gotham storyline that began in The Batman.
