Jonathan Bailey beat out several big Hollywood names for the title, including Glen Powell, Jason Kelce, Henry Cavill, Harry Styles, and Shawn Mendes. Most notably, Jonathan Bailey is the first openly gay actor to receive the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ title. This is a historic moment.
People magazine launched a special cover on Tuesday morning featuring the 37-year-old British actor, Jonathan Bailey. The cover shows Jonathan Bailey emerging from the sea and, in another image, smiling with a dog.

The magazine wrote,

Who is Jonathan Bailey?
Jonathan began his career in theater. He started gaining recognition with the 2013 crime drama ‘Broadchurch’. He achieved true fame with his roles as Anthony Bridgeton in the Netflix series ‘Bridgeton’ and in the series ‘Fellow Travelers’.
He also recently appeared in the blockbuster films ‘Wicked’ and ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’.
Jonathan Bailey came out to his family and friends at the age of 20, and publicly came out in 2018. He said,
If I can fill in the gaps that I didn’t have as a child, I think that’s a really wonderful thing.”
The competition for the title was fierce. Jonathan Bailey was one of the favorites to win. Before the announcement, Pedro Pascal (38% chance) was the frontrunner.
He was followed by Jeremy Allen White (15% chance) in second place, while Jonathan Bailey (11% chance) was in third. Other contenders included Jason Kelce, Sterling K. Brown, and Jacob Elordi.
