Ladd’s daughter, Laura Dern, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement on Monday, November 3. “My mother passed away with me beside her this morning at her home in Ojai, California,” Dern shared.
“She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist, and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created. We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now.”

Robert Charles Hunter was the former CEO of PepsiCo Food Systems, passed away on August 1 in Fort Worth, Texas, while visiting his children.
The couple, who shared a deep personal and professional bond, co-founded their production company Excel Entertainment in 1999 . the same year they were married.

Hunter made his only on-screen appearance as a detective in David Lynch’s 2006 film Inland Empire, which starred both Ladd and Dern.
